Emu Expedition Grampian Mountains Victoria Australia

26 Oct

Hi my Dear Space Friends

The last few days took the Emu expedition down into the central part of Victoria Australia to the base of the great Grampian mountains

These mountains rise in central Victoria and is a long range of mountains that are full of mystery and mystique as their history and being belongs to the Australian aboriginal peoples dating back to many hundreds of thousands of years

The mountains contain many caves and indigenous paintings pre-dating western civilization and cultures

These are the Grampians

Back to my story

The Grampians area in central Victoria is the home of the greatest icon of Australia apart from our kangaroos and that is our Koala bears

These bears live in the trees and feed on gum leaves and eucalyptus leaves

Sadly they now suffer from a disease that effects their eyes and we are running programmes to eradicate the disease and save these beautiful creatures

I want to share some pics with you of these beautiful bears I took up close and also a pic of one of only 43 Albino kangaroos we have in Australia

We have many kangaroos here from the Big Red who stands six feet tall to the rock wallaby’s and smaller species of our kangaroos

A great expedition this one , but time ran out and I wanted to introduce you to an ancient aboriginal site called the birthing tree

This is an aboriginal sacred place where the aboriginal woman went to for birthing

Anyway my friends

Hope you are all ok and will catch up with you around the traps

Keep smiling and hope you like the pics

Thanks Eddie for reading my blog and commenting.
These poor little fellows get hit every year when bushfire season begins, which is soon again.
      They lose their trees.
      Regards
      Ian

    Hi Ian! 🙂

Yes, I have heard that Koalas also suffer from a venerial disease now affecting half the population which led to Sam the Koala – a female – having to be put down despite surviving the big fire.

They are such sweet creatures is seems a shame they can’t be vaccinated, but I guess even if the will is there the money isn’t…

    God Bless my wonderful friend!

    Prenin.

Great to see these wonderful Bears and I too hope they find a cure for their eyes, Its so sad that our Wildlife suffers and usually at the hand of man, either by his hand or the chemicals we add in our environment which affects his habitat…
Glad you had a great time and wonderful photos.. And I was so interested in the Albino Kangaroo.. you know its amazing just how many animals now are being born White!… another prediction from our Native American Brothers, are of the White Buffalo.. .. Beautiful Countryside, and thank you for sharing.. 🙂
