Memories of yesteryear are sometimes hard to recall especially when one has thoughts that span through a time of conflict, where friends are lost in an instance of uneccesary loss. Wars are often political and high prices of battle are felt in the painful memories of all that have fallen in battle…

Have a very good day today Ian…

Time heals all wounds they say , but leaves the scars
One day the memory will fade with age
      Cheers

Sometimes I get a bit homesick for the times and music I lived through in Vietnam over 40 years ago
I miss the people , culture and food that I enjoyed back in those days , I loved the French/Vietnamese people
and the buildings in the French quarters, a beautiful country and people dear Sudiste and especially the music
      Wishing you well Princess

Sadly Sheila , the scars of war are always etched on old soldiers minds, the price of being a member of the craft of arms always carries a price , mine is to always have memories till the day I die
      Cheers girl and keep smiling

We sitting, looking at the videos on wars , past and present times, can’t really truly experience the personal pain, trauma and confusion wars can bring, Ian, and as everyone says, we who are free through the actions of soldiers such as yourself, should be forever thankful. Memories can never be washed away, or fade , they are there forever… but they have made you the person you are today, and have shaped your life … with your Ana… hugs to you my friend. xPenx

Didn’t like really posting that Pen but as an old war veteran with twenty years army service it is a fact of life with us old soldiers that we tend to have to live with the memories till death quells the dreams
Cheers Princess , may the sun rise tomorrow and take her shine from your smile

I have said that the Sacrifices our Warriors make for us should never be forgotten for they live with the memories everyday, bless our Soldiers everywhere. Austrailia has always had our back…and I thank you my friend. 😀

BTW: I wrote a blog inspired by your posting with the Sky Pilot video. A tale of my days during those years.

Hi Princess , war always leaves lingering memories , they say that time will heal all wounds but never the scars , war is a travesty of mankind
Hope your life is far from hurt and pain and I send you wishes for love and happiness

HI Emu…. Yes some memories like you say never fade…. And one can only imagine the memories attached to the Vietnam War.. A war like many wars where loss of life and the horrors will last with many who wonder and ask the questions WHY?..
I so wonder at the Human Race at times Ian.. and how men can devise so many methods of killing another human being.. And Why Mankind is so hell bent on destruction of nearly everything he touches upon this planet..
But I think that Man’s reign is nearly over, As we are scheduled to be whipped into shape by another far superior Being… That of Mother Nature.

I think I am beginning to look forward to the changes that are forecast for humanity
The world cannot continue on this spiral of self destruction
