Ladies Of Lon Son Island

07 Oct

A few days ago Ana and I undertook a training workshop through the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission), the workshop was titled “The Story Behind The Picture”

What it entailed was that you took a picture that means something to you and convert it into a verbal picture , in other words you actually describe the picture.

It was very enjoyable and learning experience for both of us and the results are quite remarkable.

Apart from describing the story behind the picture you can actually zoom in or out on the picture , change the picture with effects such as Sepia or Black and white as well as adding sound effects.

This is my first effort and I apologise as the picture is one you may have seen before but was found appropriate for the learning process , I would appreciate your comments on my efforts as you see fit , I see errors and will adjust accordingly in my future efforts.

The finished product is actually posted on the internet for all to see, and if you follow the link after the video you will see its publication on the net much like youtube

You will see other peoples efforts including Ana’s and mine.

Please take the time and see my efforts and follow the link after and feel free to give me your opinion

Im back.. I clicked the like button then Had a visitor… I Loved your video about your picture…Well done you.. Nice to hear the voice of the EMU!… And reading your comments etc here, I shudder too to think what happened to these poor girls. in their re-education camps.. They were so very young.. I also went to visit Ana’s Photo.. this too was very interesting and loved listening to your Voice Ana…Well done :-)…
I just love old photo’s and often wonder the story behind many of those Ive seen… Unfortunately I dont own many as my Mother had them all and I was out of favour there so all got passed to my other sisters..who dont have anything to do with me… ( Im a bit of a Black Sheep Lol )
I can see this becoming a great hobbie for you two… I also liked the scouts makeshift ambulance photo..LOL.. Brilliant little site… Thanks for sharing this and the link with us Emu. 🙂

The instructor had a lot of patience with us and apparently when we get it down pat it takes about 3 minutes to do , lol

Hi Ian, I’m just going to follow the link, but wanted to leave this comment first….’cos I always get sidetracked… ( a woman thing? 😉 ) It’s wonderful to be able to ‘see’ through others eyes and experiences… and like you I now wonder what happened to the females who were put in that dangerous position through their culture, by following and doing what was expected of them… Mayhap we shall never know, but it’s a memory that will stay and endure, as your photo shows..

Hi Pen , thanks for taking the time to look and comment on my stuff
Sadly after the war many people were put into camps for reeducation
and from what I know its not what it appears to mean , I nearly tried to track down one girl once
but was advised not to as it would put her in more danger as it would show her affiliation to the
allied forces and endanger her life , so now all I can hope is she survived
Such is the stupidity of war
