Thank you Monica, I recall the old speakers from the Drive in picture theatres.
Sadly all gone these days with the advent of technology.

It’s strange, but somehow our instant connectedness seems to disconnect us. No time to interact, too busy clicking and sending. Are we just old fogeys, Ian?

You hit the nail on the head Monica, maybe we are old fogeys just trying to keep up with the pace of the internet.
Seems to be just a quick read, fast comment and a click of Like, all so that we can maintain an internet friendship.
Damn hard for me because I am a one fingered typist.
Anyway, at the end of the day, I know I have Monica out there in the internet waves as a friend.

Good evening Sheila and thanks for visiting.
Glad you liked my old drive in speakers, long gone now, think they might be collectors items these days.
Bordering on Spring here but still around the 0 degrees at night, we dont really go into Spring, we seem to go straight into Summer and bushfire season. Hoping you are well my friend.

Hi Michiko, lovely to know you like Michael Flatley also.
I love his shows, the Irish dancers are really fantastic and the pace of their dances are great.
      Especially River Dance.
Hope you are keeping warm, maybe too cold for you to be playing golf these days.
      Wishing you well my friend.

Hi Sue, I cant believe that the UK didnt have drive in movies.
I thought that all countries would have had them, cold rainy nights and steamy windscreens.
Car wipers going non stop, never got to see the movie hehe.
      Kindest regards

Life was free and easy back in those days Sue, every day was an adventure, new emotions, new feelings.
Life was an enjoyable experience, no pain, no hurt, smiles on the faces around you, warm comforting cuddles.
Sadly we all have to grow up, I prefer to be a Peter Pan and never grow up.

During the 1960s we saw with our children two movies in a drive-in in Sydney: To Sir with Love and Guess who’s coming to Dinner?
I think our children still remember these movies.

    • The Emu

      August 15, 2014 at 10:18 am

Two great movies Uta, sadly the Drive ins are long gone now.
Occasionally I see an old deserted site with the speakers still standing.
Great if your children can remember the drive in theatre where they saw those movies.
      Piece of history now gone.
      Kinest regards

Hi Sue, glad you enjoyed that old pic from the bygone days of Drive in Movies.
Rain pouring down, hot steamy inside with wipers going non stop, missing most of the movie.
      But it was fun anyway.

Ha ha. I think I’ve been to a few of those movies where I missed most of it as well. I remember going to an all-night marathon Star Wars one as well. Watched the first, slept with my head on the steering wheel through the second and watch the third. lol

        • The Emu

          August 19, 2014 at 10:12 am

Hi Sue, dont recall doing an all night marathon like you, you really must have been a Star Wars fan.
I remember rubbing a potatoe on the windscreen to keep the rain off, apparently we were supposed to see the screen clearer.
          Cant remember it ever working.

    EASY!!! 🙂

It’s two speakers at a drive-in movie theatre. You hooked one of them to your car so you could hear what was going on!!! 🙂

    God Bless!

Spot on Prenin, making love in the back seat with the speakers turned off, great times.
Had to remember to take the speakers out after the movie finished.
