He was a very entertaining magician Sue, even the adults got carried away with his performance.
I loved the artistic talents of all the street people in Santiago and Valparaiso.

Good morning Sheila, hoping you are well, thank you for visiting.
The guy sitting is actually a street magician and was amazing to watch, even the adults admire him, as can seen by the expression on the man watching.
      Kind regards.

Thanks Prenin, I posted that in reference to your previous comments about graffiti, Chileans do have an art form of graffiti.
Which is quite refreshing from what we know as graffiti.

Sorry for the typos – #18 USS Wasp, #8 USS Hornet [ sunk in the Pacific WWII] and #78 Gerald Ford

Great photos. To answer Suchled, it’s difficult to read the number on the carrier. If it’s #18, it’s the wasp which was decommissioned in ’73. It can NOT be the #* – USS Hornet or #78 – USS Gerald Ford because she will not be commissioned until ’16. [ otherwise it’s from another country]

All I can see is 8 on the side but there is an 8 on deck both for and aft.
I zoomed in on the side midway down and it has TPS, running vertical beneath that is 6ottwald.
Just googled 6ottwald and that is the crane beside the carrier, my wife is Chilean and states it is a Chilean carrier

I knew it would be difficult to be a US one.

Wife is adamant its Chilean, which I think is right, as the other pics I just posted show a line up of Chilean ships in dock.

What a spectacular lot of pics! What was the big aircraft carrier? Whose navy?

If I recall correctly it was an American carrier in port, I was able to photograph a line up of Chilean ships in port.
That port of Valparaiso is renowned around the world for foreign shipping, think it has to do with access via the cape of good hope, not much good on geography mate so stand corrected otherwise.

Probably better if you edited it and changed Cape of Good Hope to Cape Horn.
