A Passing Glance

16 Nov

I PASS YOUR WAY
BUT ONCE IN LIFE
ALL I ASK
IS A PASSING GLANCE
AND YOUR TENDER SMILE

img_8955

I share this picture of a small Cactus that I have nurtured for a number of years now, once a year she flowers and displays her beauty, but for a fleeting moment in time, one day to be exact, and she withdraws back into her world of hibernation for another year.

Hi Ian there is something magical about the little Cacti , that flowers for a brief moment. Like re acting the Dessert after the rain falls. Everything comes to life for a short spell of magic .

    Love these little blooms
    Best Wishes
    Sheila

This was a special and fun filled poetic post, Ian. I admire your restraint in not going overboard in your ode to the Christmas cactus flower! 🙂 😀

Thank you Robin, love your comment, sometimes it’s best to let the picture do the presentation, I do have a tendency to waffle on with my poetic words of Love etc, hehe.
      Cheers.

I likened this to a rare reunion Emu where countless years might again be enjoyed if only in the short timeframe of a pleasant evening, often equally fuelled and governed by the thirst for both news and beverages shared as all discuss days past and present. I have awakened from such a night feeling decidedly ‘cactus’ yet still joyful for having made the occasion and somewhat simultaneously saddened amidst that joy as old and sometimes new friends again must withdraw until we should next meet again. A glance and a smile can indeed serve to carry you a long way.

See you at the School hopefully. Col.
